Now Commander Adama of the Battlestar Galatica and President Laura Roslin lead a ragtag fleet of refugees in a supposed search for the fabled lost thirteenth colony, Earth. However, the dangers they face are many, which compound an already difficult situation. In addition to the Cylons hunting and attacking the fleet in space and their infiltrator units carrying out sabotage–eventheir former unwitting pawn, Gaius Baltar, helps in the hunt for them while hiding both his own guilt and the strange presence that haunts his every thought–the fleet also faces internal political conflict in which the rabble-rousing figure Tom Zarek is merely the loudest dissenting voice, not to mention recurring shortages of food, water, and even oxygen. In the midst of these trials, however, clues begin to appear to suggest that Adama's bluff about finding Earth might hold more truth than anyone could have guessed.
When an old enemy, the Cylons, resurface and obliterate the 12 colonies, the crew of the aged Galactica protect a small civilian fleet - the last of humanity -they journey toward the fabled 13th colony, Earth.
SPOILER!ATTENTION!SPOILER! <br/><br/>Plot Summary: Life on the 12 Planets called the 12 Colonies seems rather free of major worries when man made robots, called Cylons, strike hard and without mercy, breaking a 40 year old cease fire. In a nuclear holocaust the Cylons wipe out their former human masters within minutes. Only the low tech spaceship Battlestar Galactica and a couple of civil boats survive, carrying what's left of the human race, some forty-five thousand individuals. How can this people maintain any perspective and carry on? Commander Adama of the Galactica lies to them and promises to find the long lost 13th colony, knowing it doesn't exist: Earth.<br/><br/>Finally, science fiction light years away from the naive tech crowd blind for social skills waiting for a happy ending or a sparkling utopia to materialize. The world out there is dark and harsh and Darwinist in it's tendencies and no amount of technology will ever change basic human flaws or character traits. Galactica2003 reflects on this. For years i've been **tching about how it seems impossible to have action, cool music, science fiction and a great script/believable actors in one movie/show. Galactica2003 is changing the rules of the game!!!! Watch it! Why only 9 out of 10? Because Starbuck didn't hit the chief hard enough…… go girl! I'm into talented women!!!
Aside from CNN, Discovery Channel, Law and Order (original series) and, occasionally, and re-runs of Monty Python on BBC, I hate television! Now, these crazy people over at SciFi have come up with something on the like (in my opinion) to heroine: Battlestar Galactica.<br/><br/>The people who have brought this show definitely took their time to find the right talent for it, and it paid off BIG TIME. Yes, it is a spin-off of the original series….but it is so much more. A total new spin on an old idea (and that last episode…OMG!!!!).<br/><br/>I could go into the whole situation, but enough people done that already. My only gripe is that July cannot get here fast enough. I am going to write a letter (yes, letter…NOT e-mail) to SciFi giving them kudos on such a well thought out project. I can only hope it is a big payoff for SciFi to keep it running. This show is just unreal. <br/><br/>Greets out to all the new BSG fans!<br/><br/>Matt
